WOW - What a Meet Part 2!!

The 25th Annual Winter Invitational on January 8th, 9th and 10th, 2010 was also an unbelievable success.  The new score clock, the new backstroke flags, the bright facility, the dedicated volunteers and the great swims by our kids combined to make this a fantastic weekend.

Kevin Walker again put together our office including our new multiuser meet manager software which allowed everything to run much more smoothly and timely.

Mandy Paradkar organized a great kitchen staff that had our volunteers and our guests from other clubs full and satisfied.

The on deck officials, led by YY Wong, had every session running like clockwork, insuring a painless and no stress atmosphere for our kids to post personal bests.

Big kudos goes to Raymonde Pinsonneault for putting together the ceremony for the official unveiling of the time clock.  Having speakers such as the Mayor, Frank Scarpitti, Olympic Gold Medalist Anne Ottenbrite and our own Master of Ceremonies, MAC President, Deepak Paradkar, not to mention the appearance of the Olympic torch, raised the profile of the event and also the profile of our entire club.

The help I received from Janice and Lisa and a host of other ladies at my office the week before the meet was inspiring.  Khatija did a wonderful job in helping me with the meet sponsorships... Earl, who whisked away the cash… And Ram who is poised to put everything into a financial statement for us.  The list could go on and on. I cannot mention everyone but you know who you are and please be proud!

Once again, a true effort by the team - for the team. The Markham Aquatic Club is our/your club. It is an honour to help the club with events such as this and a pleasure to work with so many dedicated parents, striving to make MAC a better place for their kids, our kids.
